Right to Protection
Generally girls all over and in Cameroon in particular are victims of early marriage, forced /early pregnancy, trafficking for prostitution and sexual assaults. A lot of sexual assaults in Cameroon are committed against girls less than 16 years old.
Furthermore, it is important to highlight that the primary targets of Gender Based-Violence (GBV) are women and adolescent girls in particular domestic violence, which in many places is considered a private matter, is most often suffered by the girls and women of the family.
What we do
We raise awareness in the communities on the dangers of early marraiges/pregnacies.
We engage boys/young men to become agents of change to promote gender equality and strengthen SGBV prevention responses.
We advocate for the reinforcement of SGBV policy implementation.
We engage community elders, leaders and local Councils authorities to fight against Violence for girls/young women.
We encourage girls and young women to speak out.
